19th Century Toronto

2018

Toronto has an extensive history with architecture dating back to when it was first discovered, however, when you think of Toronto, the buildings that come to mind are those from the 19th Century. These timeless pieces of architecture are still thriving today and hidden in every corner of the city. Through this documentary assignment it was my goal to capture the great architectural history of Toronto. While researching which buildings to shoot I took into account the age of the architecture, the popularity of the architecture, and its historical value. Many of these buildings were the first of their kind to appear in Toronto, such as the Bank, Library, School and the Post Office.
